Ok tank size isn’t a problem. Most flashers grow to 3”. 10 year life span so you buy a 3” fish who knows how old it is.
Diamondtail can be a bit pricey but little bigger. Great looker!!!
Eightline a little bigger little more aggressive/feisty. Bit pricey
half banded is big. Mine is 6” pricey

Tou can mix flashers and flashers and fairy’s
Fairies are ok to mix with fairies but some rules so always check first.

Expert is a stretch. R2r has a couple better.
I’m adding to my list for the extra 40 gallons op tank has. I’m jealous

Flashers and fairies work well together, when the flashers flash it can cause some of the nicest fairies to show their true colourations. I’d say watch out for the ones that won’t get along with eachother but nothing is 100%. My wrasse gang is a whole lot of red flags but they still don’t care about eachother and just have the odd chase every now and then.

definitely agree that crabby and salty are up there in the best when it comes to wrasse knowledge.

Is it actually bullying or more so displaying?
If the pintail is constantly in hiding it’s bullying but if the pintail is allowed to swim around out of the rocks it’s likely to be more of a displaying situation.

I just put in a McCosker's. When my room is lights out and his tank lights are on, he flashes back and forth for a few minutes every now and then. Wow it's pretty.

As soon as you add other fairies and flashers, that display becomes even nicer. I know watching my Carpenteri (arguably this species can pull off nicer displays than a Mccoskeri can if you like the blues) and Attenuatus displaying towards my Aquamarinus and Finifenma is incredible.
I’ve only managed to catch my Attenuatus flaring up so far but here’s my two flashers and the Aquamarinus.

I would personally use an acclimation box to reintroduce the flasher after maybe moving some territory around.
You could also add in another Fairy/Flasher species to try and distribute the aggression.

Cirrhilabrus isosceles is a known peaceful species and quite often specimens don’t display much at all. They can cohabitate with other Fairies and Flashers of similar peacefulness however it generally works best if they’re in first.
