Just got in a fairy wrasse acclimated threw him In lights on swimming around great. My falco came up and chased attacked and nipped him pretty good immediately shut down lights. How long will this aggression continue? I really like this wrasse and the hawk will be a pain to catch. Leave lights off for 24 hours ???

Leaving lights off when introducing is a good idea. Hawks can be aggressive, especially non-longnose hawks. How big is the tank?

40 breeder haven’t had much problems with him but he didn’t like the wrasse.

It might be worth putting the wrasse in an acclimation box for a couple days, if you can catch the wrasse. That way you can judge if the hawk will leave the new wrasse alone, or if you need to make some tough decisions. Good luck.

I’ll try the lights first and let the wrasse find its bolt holes and hopefully will be good from there

Ended up taking the wrasse out because of the falco took it back to LFS it wasn’t looking so sharp after the beat down from the falco. Traded the wrasse for two yellow head jawfish same thing happened falco attacked the jawfish. I ended up having enough and caught that a hole hawk fish out and gave my LFS a free fish and will keep the jawfish and get a wrasse down the road

IIRC hawks should be one of the last fish no?

Sorry it didn't work out. Any chance you can get that wrasse back?

Just a suggestion maybe catch the falco and replace him with flame hawkfish or longnose then get the wrasse you like ad them to qt together.
