So we've made the decision to get all of our fish into QT and start a fallow period. Not sure if it's brook or something else, but my clown that I've had for 8 years just died.

If we do a fallow period and treat the fish, what's the best thing to do with our eel? Separate QT? What meds are ok and needed to treat the eel? (He's acting and looks ok.)

The meds, I would suggest a cocktail of Kanoplex, Metroplex, focus, all by seachem mixed with your frozen along with vitamin C.

Would you have some pictures of the system?

QT system - 4 x 36g tanks with sump and protein skimmer (it's been cleaned up and is now at our home):

Current DT - 300 g peninsula (minus a few corals):

Wow, that is a great setup!!

Myself, I would treat the DT and the QT with the same meds :)

Thanks! Fairly new to us system. Unfortunately, my clowns became ill within a week or so of combining the two tanks.

I was planning on doing a 76 (+) day fallow in the DT, and treating the QT with 30 days of copper and then Prazipro per the 2021 quarantine guidelines posted here: https://www.reef2reef.com/threads/current-quarantine-protocol.825055/. I'll have to read up more on if I need additional rounds of other medications to keep the fish covered.

I don't know if the eel needs special attention. Perhaps it's own QT? So far I've read conflicting info about Ich and eels. I don't want to hurt him, but I also don't want to leave him as a source of future infections.

I am bad, and have always treated without a QT. :)

Let's get the #reefsquad in here for more options to help you.
