If they come from a fishless system, the risk is lessened. I recently saw a dealer that had all of their clean up crew in a tank that also had a clown with Brooklynella….getting inverts from that system would be risky. Can inverts be put in during fallow period. Algae seems to be spreading.
Reefcleaners is a good place for fishless system inverts. If they come from a fishless system, the risk is lessened. I recently saw a dealer that had all of their clean up crew in a tank that also had a clown with Brooklynella….getting inverts from that system would be risky.

Ok we will just dose for the ugly stage. We should be quarantining all new inverts too?If they come from a fishless system, the risk is lessened. That is always safest, but I just got an order from reef cleaners a few weeks ago - I just rinsed the animal off in tank water before adding them to the tank and didn’t have any issues .Ok we will just dose for the ugly stage. We should be quarantining all new inverts too?
If your tank is fallow to try and control a fish disease, then yes, the invertebrates are left in, but all fish must be removed. I also don’t add any new invertebrates during the fallow period if they are coming from a tank with fish in it.So... to clarify (for my early morning mind here) if you don't mind me tagging on here. If I want to fallow my tank, it's ok to leave the existing invertebrates in for the fallow period? Or should I try to get them out?
