My flags are finally out of QT and in my DT, but the fish I had lined up we're available this week. My LFS is going to try to order them again next week, but what happens to my now fallow QT? Do most the bacteria starve in the meantime? It will go from unstocked to heavily stocked in a day when the fish do come in.

It actually has some cheato and the algae I scraped off the glass but couldn't vacuum up, will decay, but I'm curious if anyone has done water tests in this situation? Any spikes of anything when you added fish?

I know I could just throw some food or a piece of shrimp in there, but how much? It it necessary? If it takes a few weeks to get my fish, I'd like to not do water changes on an empty tank.
