Hello all,

So I been running a fallow reef tank for 3 weeks now (doing 11 weeks)

Inside I have hermit crabs, 2 peppermint shrimp, corals, and now 2 red tip anemone (recently split)

In the absence of my lawnmower blenny, algae has gone crazy. Today did a great cleaning of all the algae and a 30% water change

In hopes of controlling the algae I'm going to only feed the coral, shrimp, anemone about 4 times a week. My question is what lighting should I have now that it is fallow? I don't want to take away all lighting from the corals but assume I can now provide less hours.

I have an AI Prime, tank is 30gal.

Thanks

Coral need lighting despite being fish-less. Lighting also won't effect any diseases. As far a algae, you need to maintain water changes. There shouldn't be any changes made to a fallow tank other than less feeding.
