So here I go with 76 days of fallow again. Second time in 7 months and every fish had been QT'd this time, learned my lesson after the last time. Purple tang has ich so removed all the fish and they are in CP for 30 days. Had to remove all my rock and corals today to get the last 2. Drained most of the water yesterday and got all but the 2 damsels. Today drained again and removed rock. To bad I want to change the sand, but don't have the replacement sand yet. Oh well I have 76 days to get the sand and swap it.

Pretty sure the PT will not make it, it refused to eat in QT when I got it. Only ate algae on the sand in the DT. Refuses all nori (green, red, and purple,) refuses all live brine, live black worms, Rod's and LRS. So we'll see. I have the worst luck with tangs.

Now both QT tanks are filled with fish for this tank. Had 4 anthias in my other QT for what was supposed to be another week before going into DT. On a good note the anthias all look good and are eating as much as I will feed them. The other 6 fish are swimming around in their QT acting normal and eating, except the PT. PT is very active though so I am hopeful it will start eating at some point.

Do you QT your corals and inverts? Odds are, that's where the ich came from and not from the fish.

No, but only thing added since last fallow period was a clam. So it could have come from that. Though the PT I did 10 days of CP, then a FW dip and over to my other sterile QT in another room. 2 rounds of general cure, but pulled him after 24 hours of the 2nd dose. Had talked to @Humblefish about it since he wouldn't eat the entire time and decided to get him into DT and see what happened. So either the clam or else the PT always had an issue and the 10 days of CP wasn't enough. This has been a strange fish to say the least. Never had a fish not eat for weeks, but still come over during feeding time just so it could swim through the food.

Checked on the anthias in the other QT today and noticed 1 has white stringy poop. At least I have plenty of time to fix that now. Was due to start general cure anyways so added that. Going to add metro/focus to some food and start feeding that for the next 10 days or longer if needed.

Both doses of general cure done in the anthias QT. I lost the Bartlett anthias 2 days ago, only visible symptoms were scales coming off the one side. That fish was a bit aggressive so it is possible one of the lyretail decided to show it who was boss. The other 3 anthias look really good. Started the food with metro/focus today as the one lyretail still has the occasional stringy white poop going on.

All the fish removed from DT into the other QT are doing good in day 12 of CP so far. Still never see the purple tang eat, but it's alive so must be eating something. Only 65 more days of fallow!

Purple tang died today. After not eating for the 2 months I had it surprised it made it this long. This makes me 0 for 5 on tangs. Fallow period ends weekend before MACNA so I will try another purple tang after I get back from there.

30 days of CP are up and did a 21 out of 27 gallon water change in the QT tank with the fish that were removed from the DT. That was some dirty yellow tinted water. Running carbon now to remove the rest of the CP. All the fish are looking good and enjoying their new clean water. Only 45 more days left of fallow.

4 more long days to go. All fish from the DT are looking good and probably ready to get out of that 29 gallon and back into a larger tank. Or maybe that is just me ready to get them out and see some fish in that tank again.

The QT that had the anthias before the fallow period, lost another anthias. 1 of 4 remaining and moved it to the QT with the DT fish in it. Pretty sure this anthias was killed by a pair of snowflake clowns I got from someone when I bought their setup. Those clowns are going to a local breeder I know soon.

Worked out a new QT process now that I am following no matter what. After 2 rounds of fallow in just under a year I am determined to not go through it again. Every fish gets a minimum of 8 weeks now, might go 12 weeks on tangs since I have the worst luck with them. Let's see if my patience can match my plan :D

All fish have been moved back to the DT for several hours. They have all calmed down and are out swimming. Tossed an ammonia badge in there just to make sure the bio filter can keep up. Leaving for MACNA on Thursday morning. I have a bottle of Prime sitting with that tank and my 12 year old knows the proper dose if she sees the badge change colors while I am gone. Should be no issues as there are only 5 fish, and the foxface is the largest. I did toss some flake and pellet in there every so often during the fallow period. Also, like I do with my QT seeded sponges for extra peace of mind, I did throw a bottle of Biospira in there yesterday.

Should have time to sterilize the one QT tomorrow and let it dry while I am gone. Once I get back, might be time to try another purple tang and my new and improved QT method.
