Hey everyone!
I currently have all my fish in QT due to ich. My question is this: What is the best way to maintain No3 and Po4 while the tank is fallow? What I am tring to avoid are dynos. Already seeing a bacterial bloom in the water column.
Tank parameters are:
Alk:8
Ph:8
Nh3/Nh4:0
No3:4-5 --> low (with fish they are 10)
No2:0
Po4: .01-.02 --> low (with fish between .8 and .10)
SG: 1.025
Temp stays 78 d.F
Actions I have already taken are: 1) Switched from weekly to bi-weekly water changes. 2) Turn skimmer down. 3) Ghost feeding tank 2-3 times a day.
Lighting schedule is 9 hours of 15k with whites at 50% and blue at 15% with a 3 hour lunar phase.
I am running carbon simply because of the amount of soft corals I have.
I do have a UV sterilizer, would this aid at all?
Let me know what your thoughts are please!
All the best, Professor. A
