I’ve been fallow for a while due to velvet. My dkh is 9 consistently my calcium is 460 which is a bit high but consistent. I’m having a hard time keeping my nitrates and phosphates at a detectable level without fish. I dose fuel and a few sinking pellets every day to keep the snails happy.

Should I take my skimmer offline to keep some protein in the water to feed more. Mostly chalices and LPS.

Thanks!

Have you noticed any problems with corals? If not, probably no need to make adjustments. You can remove skimmer's collection cup and just keep it for aeration. I'd dose amino acids too.

I think I’m getting less polyp extension and a little less colors I think.

460 calcium in my opinion, yes my opinion, is a non factor to be worried about. In fact I think 460 is the # to strive for. I've been as high as 520 for weeks before with no I'll effects
