A few would be a must in my imaginary predator tank. When the time money and space all align it will happen
 
Won't be able to keep any other predators for the most part if you do get stonefish.

Not true. I've kept a plumieri, Inimicus, dwarf lions, and rhino all together. I even tried a Mozambique, but he eventually proved to small.

It all comes down to mouth to body size ratio.

That's true for the most part, as long as most of the fish aren't in the same area.

For example, there's no way you'll keep a ray or a benthic shark with a stone fish. They simply aren't compatible. Additionally, an eel would also do badly with a stone fish. Though groupers might work, they could and would very well die to the stonefish at some point. Keeping venomous fish with predators is just asking for trouble.
