Quick ? everyone,
I have a 20gal AIO and the surface skim/overflow to the back chamber has slats at the surface and the bottom. That chambers opening to the next(bio media) is at the bottom also. Would it be a good idea to block the slats/comb to make the water enter from the top, thus surface skim & mech filfer?

yea you can slow the bottom with no prob. just consider the the direction of flow so the bottom of the chamber is not left stagnant.

Flow enters first chamber top and bottom at the moment. Continues to 2nd(bio area) at the bottom, overflows into 3rd(return area)
I get it, I have one kinda similar.
If you block the bottom and the water coming from the top does not pass by the bottom well its possible it can cause problems esp if its packed with media.
