For anybody using a fan in their refugium, does it help to control temp in the main tank pretty good?? I was thinking of moving the hang on fan from the main aquarium to the refugium. Thanks

I have a fan pointing straight down in to my sump. Works perfectly.

I use to run a ran in my sump only and it worked great but on my new tank I run 2 fans built into the canopy with one pushing air in and one pulling air out and I noticed my fans are on less.

I too run a fan in the sump, I use it as my only chiller. Helps that only 8 x T5 bulbs heat my tank, no halides here.

I do point my chiller fan across the top of the sump, so it hits as many thin water areas as possible. IE where the water flows over a baffle and is only 1/4" of water to try and cool.

Fan in the sump for me too. Moves that warm, moist air out and keeps the overall water temp. down.

$8 Wal Mart clip on fan over the sump blowing across its length. Lowers 3-5 degrees easily.

I use one of those big oscillating fans blowing over the sump. I have it plugged into the lighting powerstrip timer so it shuts off when the lights go out and comes back on in the morning when lights come back on. Works great to keep the temp just below 80 deg.
