Ok here’s one for you reefers. Starting a new tank with all feathers dusters only. Possible with a none established tank maybe not so much. But, what if the tank was established is it doable? I’m thinking maybe if it’s not super clean water? Then again this maybe one of those that’s not feasible. Your thoughts. Oh, I’m thinking large tank 120 gallon, not a nano.

With any filter feeders you need to feed them. In an established tank with fish you might not have to feed them. Might is the key word. They need flow to not only breath but also to shed mucus that has trapped particles that are too large to use. They eat very fine particles and use med sizes to build the tube.

I have a colony of Christmas tree worms and even with a well established tank I dose Phyto and they have been happy for 3 months, although ive heard it can take up to half a year for those types of worms to starve and die

I grow phyto in a milk jug and an led light that I've placed in a 5 gallon bucket. I have an air-stone to keep it all stirred up, its super easy
