Haha, I feel so dirty and yet so happy at the same time! [emoji23]

I might be coming up on a move soon so been talking to him about maybe ramping up the frag purchases so I can have a backup tank. Be a win-win for both I say!

I carried over the no water change concept from my 125 gallon tank. During initial setup the first 6-9 months, I would change water if needed but once stable, no water changes. I did have a Mg overdose mishap 6 months back and did a 60-gallon water change to rectify it.

So, the goal is no scheduled water changes but life happens sometimes.[emoji6]

I run a Triton test annually to monitor trends in my tank. While I don't use their values as a true exact guideline, if anything is ridiculously off, I'll research it more and maybe test dose to see if it makes a difference. If not, then I won't bother dosing it.

The only element I've ever felt the need to do this with is iodine, as none was detected. I have been dosing it but don't see too much of a change in anything yet this past two weeks.

Otherwise, the major foundation elements and some trace are supplied via my CaRX, which is why I prefer it over 2-part, which only supplies Ca and Alk exclusively.

Last round of testing a few weeks ago:

Ca - 430 ppm
Alk - 7.5 dKh
Mg - 1400 ppm
NO3 - 4 ppm
PO4 - 0.03 ppm

I'm not sure the move or the tank will really happen though. It was kind of a quick push to get in another house before the baby comes in March. If we don't beat that timeline, it might be a year before we decide to try to move again.

Good thing I know a really good real estate agent. [emoji12]
