FarmerTy's 215-gallon SPS Tank

I’ve been holding back. Haha.

Mine is in my backup system.... I feel like this is the reef version of when Inigo Montoya said he’s not really left-handed. :p

Yeah but....
The man in black (Wesley) wasn’t left handed either

Nothing crazy today other than to update, finally made the decision to remove my mini carpet nems that were growing freely in the frag tank. While they didn’t bother me or the corals, it just looked messy whenever I took frag tank pics.

Dang nice pictures! I need to scroll back and find how you take such good pictures.
You need to learn to sleep bud! Helps to always use the same light settings for pics. Brown filter worked great for my old Nikon rig, showed pretty true colors for a camera I couldn’t ever get the white balance to work.

With the new Canon 90D, was able to set custom white balance so I shoot with no filters now. It’s pretty true to colors even without any post processing but I still post processing when I can to clean up the image a bit. Usually exposure is the big change but I sometimes have to move the spectrum a bit to compensate for where I took the shot since blue level can vary with depth and distance from the Radion puck.

I still have yet to perfect capturing the blues in corals... mainly the deep blues or neon blues. Those still get lost in my images.

Since I can’t get a good capture of the blues on the JF Jolt with my DSLR, went with the IPhone and an Orphek clip. Love this acro! And... best part, all those mini carpet anemones are gone now from the frag tank so no more distractions.

An indo mari tenuis I’ve had about 4 months now. Really loving the color on it and pink/red is starting to appear on some of the corallites. Always fun seeing these things color up from being imported.

Every year I order another 1200 plugs... this year it came a little faster for me. Also got some more backup on the fragging tools. I love the black oxide... I don’t even rinse my tools after and they continue to keep on trucking.

What brand of tools do you have? I have a complete Tamsco kit coming in today. Pricey but it's worth not having to wash them off everytime.

I was using just the Boston aquatics one but Ocean Wonders started carrying the black oxide ones too so I ordered those 3.

Ok cool. I will try the Tamsco ones out and if I don't like them then I will try out the Ocean Wonders. I use the Ocean Wonders regular cutters and they rust on me in no time so I was hesitant to grab the oxidized ones. If you say they are good to go then that is good enough for me. :)

I should clarify, I’ve been using the Boston aquatics ones for forever. Little rust but still functional. The Ocean wonders ones I just got in so I haven’t gotten to give them a whirl yet.
Several Amazon reviews are saying that they started to rust...
Hopefully not too badly. A little cosmetic rust I’m okay with.
