CC Bahama Mama - yes, everyone has Corals that stall. I’ve been staring at this chunk of Mille for 2 years. It is finally showing some growth other than encrusting. Yay!

Hey Ty,

I just want to say that the frags that Matt @AAF got from you were gorgeous and I'll have to visit you once this is all over! I'm taking care of Brian's tank while he is in the process of moving and your lava monster is beautiful and fast grower. I'm sure Brian will be able to part with a big chunk of it to get it back into your display!

Ya'll stay safe during quarantine and I'm excited to meet you after. I have some really large SPS reefs starting up that will definitely need a bunch of frags.

John

Hey John,

Feels like meeting you was a long time coming! Once we get the all clear, let’s make it happen. I’m excited you’re taking care of the Lava Monster for Brian. It’s in good hands!

Take care sir and be safe!

Love the video!!!
Thanks a lot! I may try to take one with the DSLR one day and see how it goes. I really despise the iPhone for pictures and videos of my tanks.

Interesting new frag. Has potential.

TSA Dragonfruit - in real life a metallic red and the green polyps are more vivid. I just can’t capture that unless I take it in bluer lighting even though I can see it under full spectrum in person. My skills are lacking.

Spathulata colony I picked up awhile ago and working to have it any other color than brown. :-)

Spathulata can be difficult, I remember you showing this one, or maybe just talking about it a long time ago, it looks like it's getting some beautiful blues and reds. I love the growth pattern with spathulata, definitely chunky bois.

I agree! Growth form alone might just make it into the display even if it doesn’t become a stunner with color. This is the same guy I posted when I first got it. Other colors are definitely showing up slowly. Cmon rainbow spathulata.

Thank you for the encouragement. You'd be surprised how often I'm that close to shutting down the thread. While I do enjoy posting about the tank and interacting with other like minds, two young kids and now a pandemic does make it difficult to keep up with the thread sometimes. When I see just one or two likes on some pictures posted or a video, I sometimes question if I should still expend the effort.

But posts like these keep me going. Thanks a lot for the kindness and taking the time to send me some positive vibes!

Please don't stop this thread. You are a constant way of learning in so many ways. Just an excellent reefing referent XD.

And your post are always fun and with great photos.

I couldn't ask for more.

Ps. Just seeing that hairy spathulatha is far more than we are used to. What a difficult animal.

Only because you complimented my hairy spathulata. ;)

I’ll keep at it! Thanks for pep talk!

RR Red Bull - still one of my favorites

JF Homewrecker - not sure I’ve ever stated but few corals I put in that must have category. This one is a must have.

That Homewrecker is with white spec?

Just incredible stuff. Even if lit with a candle...

Yeah, that’s full spectrum. Under actinics alone it’s just stupid... too bright to even really photograph and capture correctly.

Out of curiosity what are your nitrates and PO4 now without the nitrate reactor?

I’m running higher than “normal/trendy” Nitrate and phosphates, but corals seem to like it...

Right now 5 ppm of nitrates and 0.08 ppm of phosphates.

Thanks. What means of export are you implementing now?
Just a large skimmer and GFO. I was using a biopellet reactor for 6-7 years but stopped using it. Then went to a sulfur denitrator but my system was not keen on that. So running nothing now but GFO and ROX carbon.

I love that Bubblegum mille! Sniper had such awesome corals
