All, my fastest growing coral is this acro. It’s kind of a pale lime green and it grows very fast. It’s hard to tell from the pic but the fastest growing branches have huge white tips. Probably 1/4”-1/2” tips that are pure white. The lower branches that don’t grow as fast are purplish. Is this normal or is it related to something off in my water chemistry? My other acro and is a slow grower with no white in the tips. Montis and lepto’s have slight white edges as expected.

yes its common with acros but manly dragon acros all the time since they grow so fast mine get huge white tips. the white is the skeleton and tissue not keeping up.

I never said it was a dragon it’s obvious not I was just using it as a example of another fast growing acro

I don't know if I have ever heard an explanation for this observed growth feature, but the fast-growing tips of acropora are commonly lighter colored.
