Fast growing sponge?

I just bought this sponge from the lfs a few days ago and it has already started to attach and spread its self across the live rock, are sponges fast growers ? There are also many clear tube looking structures coming out of the sponge ,what are these ?

Im not sure about "pretty" sponges lol but I know the cryptic ones can grow very fast when theres enough nutrients.
Im betting the clear shoots are just new growth

Lol I like blue so it's all good , I just don't want it to take over ,there is an anenome on the rock it choose to attach itself to

Is it easy to frag?

I'd love something like that for my 240g. I've only got a Potters Angel now, but plan to add 2-3 more dwarf and Large Angels eventually. Would make a nice snack for them.

I have a flame angel but he doesn't bother my sponge or corals

Absolutely!

When I got it I placed it in a crevice. Shortly after I had to move and took it off the rock and it left fragments which have now grown into small sponges. The reds I have do that also. Pretty cool!

I'm just a little concerned because it decided to attach itself to a rock with an anenome close by

I see. You can definitely move it. Just be gentle. I suppose the sponge could irritate the nem if it gets close enough. They can release toxins into the water. I've never had that problem though. Good luck!
