Hello,

Yesterday my Zebra hermit crab molted and he doubled in size. But the thing is, he was just crawling around and eating from my hand the day before. I dont understand how he molted so fast doesn't it usually take a month or something? Im pretty confused and now hes way too big for his shell. I guess I'm going to go find a new shell tomorrow:rolleyes: anyone know how he molted so fast?

Thanks!:)

I've had inverts molt multiple times within a month, that mostly applies to shrimp however. But I have seen my hermit crabs molting 2-3 times within a month. It's nothing to worry about. He probably ate from your hand the day before because they like to stock up before they molt. Why it happens could be a variety a things such as higher quality food
