Faster water change?

Ill mark the tanks in 5 gal increments with the next changes, that should help removing water.

I dont think I could gravity feed into the toilet from 30-40 feet away for waste water. I could possibly get another pump and pump out of the tanks into the kitchen sink because its closer. Just would need a bit of hose and a place to store said hose. I dont have a place available to store fish gear. Most of everything is stored in the stands of the tanks and the brute can when not in use it hung on the wall of the garage out of the way.

The water station would be nice but I dont have room to store that all at the moment.
Also I cannot fill the brute with RODI and just leave it sitting in the house. Again I dont have space for this. Even while filling the brute it "blocks off" one restroom because its filling in the restroom. For ATO water I fill 5 gallon jugs and fill the tanks ATO reservoirs 5 gallons at a time. Id love to get some room in the garage to do a water change setup but I dont have a drain in the garage and I cannot tote the brutes into the house because of a step up from the garage.
You can build a stackable (to save on space) water change station and use long tubing to drain rodi waste water outside.
Without a big pump and pre made rodi, im not sure you can cut time down. Or you could buy pre mixed saltwater from your lfs.

True. I thought about that. (Stack the brute bins) That might just work in the garage and then pump into the house for a change. There is a drain to outside in the garage but I wasnt sure how well that would be with all that water dumping out the side of the house. Wouldn't it erode the ground with all that water?

If the water had salt, after a long time it would. Freshwater should be fine like waste water from your rodi. Here’s one of my stacked WCS to give you ideas. This one has a 20 gallon brute on bottom and a 55g on top.

The fresh water is stored up top. It has a float valve so my rodi stops making water when it’s full. Then gravity feeds the water to the brute below. The pump mixes the saltwater and with a turn of a valve it sends the water to a 1/2inch hose that fills the tank

I have a float on my brute can already but once its filled the waste water is still running. It only stops the RODI water filling up. I have it as a just in case I forget to set a timer.

You might be surprised how far it will go. I came across this video a few days ago, looks like its a freshwater tank but the principles still apply. He siphons out of his tank to the toilet 25 feet away, doesn't seem to have any problems. If your kitchen sink is closer, look into the python system. It uses the faucet to make a suction, and drains right into the sink. Its what ive been doing, and the sink is on the other side of the house from my tank.

Are you sure you have it setup correctly? Or what RODI unit do you have? Once mine reaches the float valve, I do not continually make waste water.

Why heat it? That would be my first change.... the ocean inhabitants go through thermoclines all the time. With no ill effects. Add it slowly and all is good....

This x1000 I have never heated my water and have done as much as a 80%WC with room temp water(68ish).

I'm guessing just a float on the product line with no RSOV on the unit to actually shut the unit down when the product line is under pressure.
