Mine too! He’s still active and moving around the tank as usual. I’m hopeful that if time is given he will eventually get it out. With him not eating though, he will start to lose energy.

OMG, he must have passed whatever he was hold overnight! He still looks a little bumpy but the swelling has gone away!! I’m gonna try to feed him again this morning and see if I can get him to eat anything. Fingers crossed his in the homestretch and almost has this kicked!!!!

Also , should I go ahead and give one more antibiotic (kanaplex)? @Jay Hemdal or @vetteguy53081 what do you guys think?

Oh man, I am over the moon right now! I don’t think I’m quite out of hot water until I get him to eat. I’ll probably leave him in the QT for another day or two until he gets his appetite back up. I cannot even believe this fish has made it in all honesty. I was convinced he was going to die and I was just trying to keep him comfortable through that process.

He went absolutely insane with it before getting sick. He would run anybody off that tried to touch his shrimp lol. Part of this was my fault because I was trying to increase feedings for a sick clown fish. I never would’ve imagined, however, that it would have led to this kind of issue. I will say he’s gone more than a week now without eating and still is acting active so he must’ve stored some of those calories.
I purchased 3 yellows from Biota 4 months ago and have not experienced this issue. PE mysis is staple food in the diet I feed. I have other tangs that have eaten PE mysis as a staple for over 7 years. I also feed rods original and formula 1 and 2 pellets along with nori 2-3 times a week. I did start my baby yellows on the dk1 pellets that biota said they feed so maybe that helped mine transition to my diet?

I’m wondering if maybe a piece had sat in the tank for a period of time? He may have had some sort of bacterial infection from eating shrimp found on the bottom. I could be completely wrong but that’s just my guess at this point. I’m definitely cutting back on the amount that I feed from here on out. I am going to be sure that nothing is left over in the tank and if there is I get it out. I will say this guy is super strong and healthy other than this issue. He’s held out for over a week now with no food and it hasn’t even affected his physical ability to move around in the least.
I'm glad yours is coming around. I love these little guys. No chance of any food laying around in my tank. I don't think any food even makes it to the bottom with hungry gang I have

Beautiful tank! I do love the yellows! I’d definitely have more if I were a richer man with more room. Hopefully my little guy will stick around for many more years.I'm glad yours is coming around. Well, hopefully this is my final update, but I have finally seen the little guy start picking at algae again. I have been observing him for most of the day and he finally started picking at and swallowing food. He still kind of pooping everywhere but this seemed to have helped, I will also say that I believe he was able to make it as long as he did without food because he was already a fairly strong, healthy animal. If he would’ve had any other underlying health issues or stress on him, I don’t think he would’ve made it.

I think mysis itself is ok as long as you mix it up and don’t let it sit in your tank. The biota rep thought it was probably a tainted piece of shrimp that had been sitting in my tank.

Me too! He’s a little skinny after going a week without eating, but thankfully is back in the display and even starting to pick at rocks. Hopefully his appetite will come back in the next day or so. I put him back into my display tonight and it was like he was never gone… immediately went to the other fish to let them know who was in charge
