I did a 10% water change last night. It has been about a month since I did one. Everything looked fine, I just wanted to do a routine change. I used premade salt mix that I had brewing in a bucket that was a couple weeks old(instant ocean).

I just got home and all corals and fish look good except the favia. Part of the coral is bubbly and waves with the waterflow. It has never looked like this since I had it. I've had it for over a month.

Is this normal?

agreed

mine does that too, but I change 100% of the water and leave the whole tank drained 25 mins routinely to condition it for strength and to amuse me. ergo, your 10% changes r no harm.

Lol

I'm just curious as to why this has never happened before??

It seems to be worse now. How long does this usually take?

Should I do an Iodine dip or just leave it alone?

Mine does that after a heavy feeding.
How long does it last for? It has never done this. I pore my water right over the area it is placed at. If the water is strong it will reach the coral. The salt mixture I used for the water change was a month old mixed in a bucket. I am just worried that something was wrong with the mix and did something to the coral.

Hmm, that looks different now! Dip it and use some iodine. It looks like an injury that’s turning into bacterial infection. Did something land on it or bump into it like a scraper or something? I think that popping it would cause further injury.
