Caught my favia dripping off a bud and snapped a pic of it. Thought I would share as you don't see it happen very often

That's insane! So cool how many different ways these creatures can reproduce and spread themselves around. Great pic, thanks for sharing.

The small piece that dripped off the main colony floated around for a bit, and I didn't want it to get lost under a rock or something so I glued it to a plug. Here is a pic of how its doing now

Very cool. Thanks for posting. I have a favia that is over growing it's frag plug and looks like it is dripping off the edges. Need to get it on something big and stable soon!

Very cool pics! I had one of my favia do that before, no pics though..
Did the same as you, glued it to a frag plug and it's now 2 nice polyps..

That is awesome. Just think, without our tanks we would never get to see stuff like this!

Very nice! There was someone a while back (Borneman?) looking for photos of this. I can't remember where I saw it though.

Very nice! I have a friend who's favia has done that a few times. That's how I got mine, now it's about 7-8 eyes!

Very cool! I've got a large favite colony that occasionally forms a large lump on top that becomes a ball that eventually detaches. Corals do some crazy things!

There's always been stress involved when I've seen this happen - usually a coral that's been shipped recently. Anything stressful like that lead up to your "drip"?
