I bought a Blue Ice Eye Favia on a impulse buy. It was a nice price and I had already bought a shipping module for other corals. I haven't done a lot of research on them, but would luv to hear any suggestions about tank placement or anything I might want to consider before placing it in my tank. I know they can be aggressive with their sweeping tenacles, but I think I have a place on the bottom portion of my tank that would work. thanks for any help.

I recommend you to place it around 100 par zone and low flow area then, see if it likes it. Yes, you got to watch out for the sweeper tentacles!

thx, Gernader. It will be in a low flow area and on the bottom of the tank to start, and probably the finish, as the rock i have chosen for it is on the bottom away from anything it can sting.

Favia typically do well on mid to bottom of the tank. Low to medium indirect flow. They can put out sweepers so put some space between frags. Occasional feeding of reef roids, oyster feast will do well for that coral.

thx, DSC. I appreciate the reply. Like I said, I hadn't given much thought before i bought it and there isn't as much information of these corals as a lot of corals i have looked at and bought.

Your very welcome. They are nice corals to keep but can be slow at growing. A little patience and they become impressive colonies.
