Hey

Not very familiar with these corals. Is this normal? Is it dying? Looks like the outside is loosing color. It's for sale from a local guy but not sure if this is normal.

if thats the same coral i would not buy that, hard to tell from pic, but it either looks like 2 types of favia which seems unlikely.. or half of that coral is on its way out.... i only have 1 favia and it's a slow grower on me but never looked anything like that.

Most war corals have two colors like that. Hard to tell from the pic tho.

I have lots of favites and that might be a war and peace favite or its a war favite that is dying tell the guy to give you a better pic under no so blue lighting

It's really hard to tell from the photo whether or not their is a clear border, or whether those two colors seemlessly merge into one. It looks to me like a red war coral up against a light blue favia or perhaps another favites pentagona (war coral). If they're both war corals, they should coexist peacfully. At any rate, there does not appear to be any bleaching or dying going on to me.

Thank you all. I did go ahead and buy it. I will be getting it on Tuesday. Can't wait to see it in person. I'll post new pics when I get it in my tank

Thanks

I'm the seller of the coral. It is the same favia. Why the different color I have no idea. But I'm interested in anyone's theory.

thats a cool combination. Even though its growing together it looks like two different types of favia. I've seen favias grow like this before.
