Favias vs platygyra care

What are the differences in the needs of these different brain corals? I am deciding where to place a few frags and I am interested in what people have found with their favias and platygyra.

Favias are much more aggressive than platys. I have both in my tanks. Currently only 5 or 6 platys vs about 20 favia. Platys are more sensitive and tend to lose in battles with coral and algae. They grow really slowly, can tolerate a bit more light and flow than favia (depending on actual species).

I like them both, but the favias do come in more colors and grow for me a bit faster. Although, I have a platy that has grown a lot over 2 years or so. Granted, it is now 2" across instead of about 3/4". My favias grow a bit faster depending on the species and space.

I wish I knew how mean favias can really be to neighboring corals. Have not see that with my platys. However, also wish I knew how much platys really need in the water column for food. They do well in lps tanks. Lots of nutrients and food.

I prefer platygyra, I love the maze look to them and like mentioned before, less aggressive. Favia come in crazy colors though so it can be hard to choose. I say get both and problem solved, lol. We had a nice purple and green platygyra for a bit.
