Either way, I think you made a solid purchase and with 3 units should have enough coverage.I ABSOLUTELY agree that I wish there were manual controls on the box.

Do you have the ramping version?Have had galaxyhydro and SB Reef lights. The Galaxyhydro were ok but the SB Reef lights are amazing.
No. I have always just used the SB basics.Do you have the ramping version?
I've been stalking your thread and I was curious as to what percentages you keep your whites/blues?No. I have always just used the SB basics.
Yes they are. Keep in mind these lights can be powerful. When using with SPS be sure to light acclimate them. Meaning, keep SPS on sand bed and slowly move them up. Or stock tank and slowly ramp lights up.I have a question for you light aficionados are the mars aquas and Chinese brand sps worthy thanks in advance - Mitch

If you want a solid plug and play without changing anything go with SB reef lights. If you like the ability to customize and don't mind using a soldering iron, go with mars aqua or one of the wifi units like popular grow or galaxy hydro. The mars aqua has better spectrum than the wifi units but with diode and lens changes, you can turn it into a beast that would compete with SB reef lights. Thanks for the lightning response which lights would you recommend

Luckily for us, SB reef lights provides us with a chart that shows us which LEDs are where and with what lens. So if you goto their Link and select one of the 16" lights, scroll through the images and the last image will provide you with a chart. Ebay has many sources that sell 3w led chips (without pcb) and lenses to boot.Have no experience in soldering but how would one make it similar to the sb lights and where can u get these lights I'm in Canada so maybe amazon?

Yes that is the 300 watt version. Only difference between the 165 and 300 would be that the 165 watts are separate and can be positioned further apart. You need to look at the length of tank and spread of the 300 watt to maybe see if you need one 300 or two 165s.Are these themthese or 2 165 watts for a 48 inch 100 gallon![]()
