Amazing fish for sure. The fish pictured is probably the nicest one in the ocean however. None that I've seen look anywhere close to that. Still love mine, though. Awesome fish either way.

We've got two in stock that look similar while flashing. It's helpful that we have them in a harem environment, however.

These fish are a lot of fun to feed!

Nice, mine looks pretty electric when he flashes. Still missing those long awesome streamers. Definitely an awesome fish that's very sure of itself. He is the last wrasse I'll introduce and went into a tank with some very established fairies and held his own no problem. Very aggressive eater no doubt.

Fairy Pintail and
Labouts after it gets full adult colors.

That particular photo was taken in a aquarium, fwiw.

Actually, this particular picture was taken in our photo tank by our professional photographer! It's very similar to Lemon's, however.

Well then, I stand corrected. But Lemon's was in a tank too. :P
(Yes, I did think it was TYK's photo)

I love my male Paracheilinus carpenteri. Super close to the mccoskers that @Dolelo96 said. Even when he plays 'have a heart attack' when I walk near the tank sometimes. He's always watching me and super active all over the tank. Flashes up to the clowns at feeding time to let them know whats up.

Do you have a net/lid on your tank? Pretty sure most are known to jump. My lid has saved my couple wrasse at least a couple times from ending on the floor.

Eats everything.

He's my favorite that I have.

One I don't have: Lineatus Fairy Wrasse

Also the ones with diamond tails are pretty cool and different.

Did yours eat everything right off the bat?

mine will not eat anything but white worms now. a bit worried about the nutrition value...

Such a hard question... I like Mccosker's flashers, but then there's the fairy wrasses and LOTS of those that I like. I've currently got a pintailed fairy wrasse that has been excellent in the reef. My bucket list for these includes johnsoni and rhomboid for sure, but can't have those till I get a bigger tank.

The flame fairy won’t be a disappointment but the six line flasher wrasse are one of the best flashers

Do you mean an Eight line Flasher wrasse? (Paracheilinus octotaenia)

My two favorite fairy wrasses are the ruby head and pink margin, they just have such a rich palette!
Good luck choosing, god bless!

I had a ruby head for over 6 years. It was beautiful indeed... also pretty large. 6" and like a small perch. But it was also aggressive to other fairy wrasses and sometimes other fishes. Now that it's gone I'll be adding another batch of wrasses!

Super tough question! My favorite flasher has to be Attenuate. I had mine for over two years and then just past away on me at the end of last year. In search of another but he used to eat out of my hand.

As for fairies, oof. My Shutmani has grown on me as he displays every night almost like courting my female P. Rubricaudalis.

But have to say my favorite fairy is toss up between Johnsoni, Nahacky, Earlei and Rhomboid.
