It is a preset on the new controller Oceanic Gyre Cycle.

What are your hands on thoughts with the new controller? I still have the old style controller and have ran a pulse of 2 sec on 2 sec off. Great results so far.

So far i like it,but i never used the old one.This is my first Gyre.Still trying different settings.I am concerned about the noise i am getting right now.They say it will quiet down after the break in period.

It will. I run mine about 60% on my 90 acrylic and at first was a little turned off with the hum. But it is almost undetectable over my other equipment up to 80%

I use custom setting. From 0800-2100 random at 50% both. 2100-2400 2 sec pulse at 30%. 0001 - 0800 at +30,-20 alt gyre both.

Can you program the controller to do random settings, however no matter what, it will go into feeding mode at the same time everyday?

+1 pulse mode.
Once a week I crank it up at 100% full direct mode (for a couple of hours) to lift up all my detritus and let it settle to BB floor. Then vacuum it out during water change.

I have the old model and your can't program auto settings. You can program each mode the way you want it but you have to change the mode each time by hand.

I don't know what their new controller does.
