Im starting out with a 29 gal bio cube and am wondering what heaters you guys would
recommend. The person selling the tank is offering a fluval E100 for $20 (100 watts says up to 30 gal). Should I buy this? They have had a good experience with that tank and heater but i've heard you should get a heater made
for more than what you need.

Do yourself a favor ad get a cobalt aquatics neo-therm for that. Best heater by far for nano AIO tanks

My vote also goes for the Cobalt Aquatics neo-therm. Mine are very accurate, and the digital interface is very well designed and easy to use.

Would you recommend a 100 or 150 watt model?

IMO you don't need to oversize in a BC29, with the hood and all in one chamber they tend to run hot to begin with. You should be just fine with 100 but it would not hurt anything if you felt better over sizing it for piece of mind. However in my experience your going to be looking for ways to keep the thing cool more than hot ;)

Been using the Fluval E-series on my FW tank for the last 6 months, and I'm impressed with it.

Going to purchase 2 for my reef tank.

Cobalts are nice until they explode. Will never touch that heater even with a 10ft pole. Eheim Jager if I want a regular size heater for me.

Everything I have read indicates that this was an isolated issue with the 200 Watt heater. Which you can no longer even purchase as far as I know.
