Favorite media(s) for a pico tank?

Was wondering what everyones favorite pico media was?

Was thinking filter pad in the top rack (to be changed out a couple of times a week), purigen the next slot down, and bio block on the bottom.

All my little tank go as follows. This includes bio cubes and a spec v. Btw, love the rack.

Filter floss
Carbon or purigen (some tanks struggle to keep nutrients due to being softy heavy, so they only get carbon)
And then either a bag of fluval bio beads (whatever they are called lol) or rock rubble in a large hole mesh bag

I tried a small bio block and had issues with stuff slipping by and clogging it.

The mesh bags allow you shake them out in old tank water when doing a water change. This gets rid of any stuff that build up in there.

I was thinking of using a single piece of bio block trimmed to fit the rack. I'm hoping that the top layer of filter pad would remove most of the detritus before reaching the bio block. But you make a good point about being able to clean out the biomaterial. I already have the bio block on hand so I might try that first and if it gets to clogged swing over to loose stuff in a mesh bag like you're talking about.
