Unfortunately, there is no good place to buy fish or coral in the area. We have a Petco but their tanks are atrocious. Our tank pretty much has all of the fish we will be putting in it so we are mainly looking for stores with a decent coral selection. Does anyone in PA have a favorite LFS that they go to that sells decently priced coral?

If you’re near Lancaster That Fish Place is awesome they even host frag swaps. If you’re near the Lehigh Valley something fishy is decent .

That fish place is the biggest pet store in the United States I believe. I go there all the time :) I'll be going on Saturday as well!

My friend has a saltwater/ freshwater store in Lock Haven, PA. DC Underground is his store name. Great prices on corals and worth the drive! If he doesn't have it in stock he will make sure he gets it for you. Most of the time he'll beat any price or price match.

South of Philly is Frags to Fishes in Landenberg. Great guy and he ships.

West of Philly is Aquatium Specialties and Research (ASR) in Malvern. Mike is awesome and his prices are awesome.

North of Philly is Hidden Reef and another store right near it that I can’t recall the name of right now. Great dry goods selection.

We're from central PA. I didn't specify locations because we currently have a rental car with unlimited mileage and wanted to take advantage of not having to put all the miles on our cars. (Don't judge ;)) . Bonus if it's towards Pittsburgh, but not required. We love That Pet/Fish Place and are really disappointed that work schedules won't allow for us to go there for the frag swap.:(

I never knew that! We're from the State College area and thought the closest (decent) place to go was Altoona. Altoona's Petco is actually really well maintained and employs people with knowledge about saltwater fish. Our Petco is beyond terrible. Saltwater Shack in Altoona is really good too.

Its a tough time looking for coral with nothing leaving Indonesia still. Granted if you did come to pittsburgh there are like 5 stores.

I thought the ban was lifted.... no?
Not exactly.

So they are going to try to send out coral this week and we will see what happens. However, even if the ban is indeed lifted and the certificates issued it will still be some time before the collectors take things to the exporters and the exporters get stuff to the importers and the importers get stuff to the wholesalers and the wholesalers get stuff to the retailers. That is all if the health certificates are issued.

Something fishy in north hampton(just outside of allentown). Good livestock/invert selection, corals are iffy. Where at in central Pennsylvania? I’m from the area, and unfortunately, there really isn’t a whole lot.

Mercer has The Coral Cave, I have not been there but plan on going this weekend.
