Favorite Test Kit for Newbie

I have had my tank for about 6 months, and really want to do my own testing, rather than LFS. Recommendations on kits, and frequency appropriate for a 20gallon reef tank with 5 "hardy" fish and only soft corals.

Salifert 6 pack is pretty good. It’s like 100 bucks but I haven’t had issues with it.

Temp - digital thermometer
Salinity - refractometer
pH - pinpoint pH monitor
Alk - Hannah checker
Ca - Red Sea
Magnesium- Salifert
Nitrates - Nyos
Phosphates - Hannah checker

I like Nyos but Red Sea also makes a marine kit that tests for most of what you'll need.

I like Compact Lab - Essentials test kit by Tropic Marin and also use Red Sea multi test kit. Test every week or at least every two weeks after a water change.
