What is/are your favourite coral safe fish?

Mine:
Harlequin Tusk

Achilles Tang (here's some trivia about me, it's the only tang I like at adult size)

Moorish Idol (a bit of a hit or miss with LPS but can coexist)

Femininu$ Wra$$e

Here's what's in my tank right now:

Yellow Tang
Scopas Tang (I know, zebrasomes can't be kept together....just don't tell them)
Long Nose Yellow Butterfly
Melanurus Wrasse
Two pairs of Paired Clowns (kept separated)
Pair of Pajama Cardinals
Coral Beauty

And no one is my favorite....I like them all. It's like asking me who's my favorite kid of the three kids I have. I can't tell you that (unless you send me a PM and then I'll fill you in. )

I'll compromise certain corals if I need to I WILL own a tusk

Mine is the cherub angelfish. They don't get very big but can sometimes cause trouble with LPS, Softies, or Clams. This isn't my picture.

Corals aren't what you need to worry about....it is the hermits, shrimp, and snails :-(

ive always liked dragonettes. green mandarin being my favorite. I also like the hawk fish, but they like to perch on your favorite coral... its almost like they know....

Why have those when I can just have algae eating fish? Honestly inverts IMO just get in the way when I'm feeding corals, try to rip the food out of their mouths.

For me, the hermits and snails tend to get into areas that a lot of fish normally cannot. My Tusk destroyed my entire CUC with the exception of my shrimp so I added a Kole Tang which helps but doesn't clean as well as hermits and small snails would. I also found out that my Tusk leaves Urchins and Cowries alone also so I also some of those.

And clams...honestly my biggest hold back on certain angels and the tusk (and the moorish idol) is my love for clams. I have a hard time deciding which I'd rather have in the tank.

Yeah, that is true....I completely forgot about clams. Fortunately I don't have any or my Tusk would have eaten those also lol.

I love clams but I can sacrifice them for a collection of gorgeous fish, we all have our opinions though

There are several fishes mentioned here that aren't necessarily safe.

I agree, how are we defining “reef safe” in this thread?

My understanding is that the tusk would demolish the entire cleanup crew. Also is long nose butterfly reef safe? That one is on my “do not touch” list, but only from research and not experience.

The title of this thread says "Favorite CORAL safe fish". Many of the fish mentioned would not typically be considered reef safe, but will not bother corals.

All fish that are generally not considered coral safe, although sometimes they are kept in reefs.
