FDA warning to Fishman chemicals

Found this on FDA website to Fishman. Does that mean we better stock up on the antibiotics etc in case they get shut down?
Wow! I know he was under scrutiny during the whole chloroquine debacle, I thought he took that off the market? There was also an issue where apparently, a drug he supplied had been mislabeled in China. Not his fault, as white powders all look alike, but a number of fish died at a public aquarium.

From reading the memo it sounds like there are a lot of compliance issues. Would concern me if I was using their products.

Seeing as they have not replied to the warning letter they received in April, and subsequent voicemail left to him five days later, I suspect the FDA will pursue the matter. Definitely interested to see how this unfolds.

Well true... then maybe not stock up then lol. Well for me I can always get meds for human consumption although a lot more expensive once it’s for humans...but quality control hopefully better

I would view it as, I have no idea why they wouldn’t get approval. Is it because they don’t want to pay/maintain certification, or is it because there are other corners they are cutting where they wouldn’t pass review?

For as much as I have invested in my tank, it would be worth my peace of mind to order elsewhere, even if it was more.

If you got a warning letter you already had a lot of opportunities gone by to address findings lol. They don't usually start with those

Amazing. I am sure it makes more sense for us to catch fish out of our reefs and bring them to a vet (who almost certainly has no idea what’s going on) and have them write prescriptions instead. Thank goodness for the FDA on this one!

As I understand it, he sources many companies whose products we buy.

Sigh

As someone who works in the medical device industry I can tell you that there is a lot the FDA demands that makes little to no sense while some important things are not looked at at all - guess why there are so many recalls and class-action lawsuits?
Good thing I have connections to get a lot of the fish meds I need...
