Feather duster help!

Got two feather duster few weeks ago maybe like 10 weeks both doing well till i had a minor ph drop didn’t notice one of them been hiding the other was doing fine through it today i noticed the one doing really good way like coming out really far like never seen his “ feathers “ out so much went for a run came home and his feathers are like floating around the tank

Has he died? Should i take these feathers out what’s going on? Please help took a picture maybe it’ll help

That is the feeding crown and they can drop them for a number of reasons but generally because they'e moving should grow back in time and probably in a different spot.

mine dropped his feathers over a week ago and they haven't returned. How long do I wait before I declare him gone?

Can' remember exactly but it was at least a few weeks....
