Sorry I've been offline lately, work has been hectic! Hoping y'all can ID this worm, he comes out at night time feeding. Feeds by curling one arm at a time into his mouth. I've scoured the internet & found a lot of very -close but not quite. I just know I've seen this 'somewhere' before. This one has me stumped.

Whoa, r u talking those branches? From your description it sounds like a basket star, which they used to actually sell believe it or not at live fish stores like 20 years ago. I had one in a 5g for a year. Could also be a serpent star with its arms stuck out a hole in the rock:

Better pic if you can

It does look like a basket star except for the tube going into a hole in the rock. Really tough to get a decent pic as he's only out at night. I'm having trouble posting the full video but here's a gif of the arm action. Central tube is about 3-5 millimeters across.

Maybe a Tubeworm, instead of a Feather Duster?

My thought also but I have not found anything matching it. Lots of worms but none with the branching arms like this. I'm at a loss. And I could swear I've seen it on NatGeo or the like, LOL

Other observations that might help with ID- hole is on a rock at the top of the tank with good flow, retracts into the hole during daytime, total diameter including arms around 1-2 inches, moves each arm independently, appears to have 6 arms but possible more as he is very transparent.

Why are pictures so terrible in these posts? I can zoom into a baby snail that's as big as a spinoid worm without it being blurred..
