Feather duster or Aiptasia?

Its a tube worm which uses fan to capture food. Most effective is to break off at base and discard. If you cant reach base, super glue mentioned but best is gel super glue from dollar store, placing a dab over the opening. Worm will get stuck and die

Thanks. Have today purchased peppermint shrimp & Red Sea Aiptasia X. LFS says that Aiptasia X will most likely make it release spores & shrimp should eat the baby aiptasia. Will have to see how it goes.
There's no spores. Just hit it hard and fast with that stuff. Lots of myths about how aiptasia grows and spreads. It's easy to eliminate if you do hit it early and easy to manage even if you don't.

Agreed. I have used Aiptasia-X without issue and never had an explosion of babies. Just apply correctly to the ones you can see/reach, and repeat in a few days for any stragglers you missed (you likely won't see all of them at once, especially once you start messing with the tank)
