Just got some new live rock and this guy is on it and growing. Not sure what it is.

It almost looks like the stalk of a lps coral that died off and now something else is growing over that..

Does it have polyps the come out? Looks to be a skeleton of a coral.

It's somewhat soft. It move a little in the current

Wonder if it's some kind of leather that got fragged off and is beginning to grow back from the base?

I just shut the main light off and the top retracted.

Definitely not a duster but as for the ID I’ll leave that to the other more coral-knowledgeable members!

I would agree. The second photograph seems to indicate a soft coral.
