You could carefully scrub the snail shell with freshwater. But do it very carefully to not allow the fw to come in contact with the snail itself.

hydroids, if you are near jersey I can trade you a snail for the snail. otherwise a lot of times they wax and wane on their own or you may trim some of the extra growth back
