Set up a tank few months back and has mainly dry rock but I did put a small piece of live rock to help. I noticed a feather duster worm and now I look around the tank and can count 7 of them now. Is that normal? Do they multiply alot of is it most likely the live rock just had a few hitchhikers?

I mean I kinda like them. I just don't want them everywhere. They seem to all sit towards the bottom to feed on my apmhipods.

Are you sure it's a feather duster. Featherduster are filter feeders.

Pretty sure they are. Just figured they'd eat amphipods cus the dusters tend to hang around near where plenty of them are

Oh how lovely lol. Someone told me they were feather dusters on here few weeks ago. Any idea on how to remove them?

These you see may be tubeworms which emit a fan to capture food and can be a nuisance when in large numbers

Aptaisia X or Joe's Juice, or squirt boiling hot water on them. Be ready for an ongoing battle, because you'll think you got them, and then they'll pop up in another spot. Bergia (sp?) nudibranches eat them exclusively. Filefish also eat them. You do want to get rid of them, for certain.

Aptaisia file fish took care of mine

Wow I had/have some aptasia none in the main tank I believe my peppermint shrimp took care of them although I have a few small ones in one of my hang on back filters and they do not seem to multiply so I leave them there but the ones I have and had do not seem to be as large as the ones I see in your system are there different types?
