Feather duster

Did the whole thing come out if so hes dead. But when spooked or stressed the can release there feathers and some will come back

It came out its tube good or bad?
It is bad. It means that it is stressed and felt like it was in danger so it left its location to find a safer one. Do you have any tangs in your tank? I have seen some that peck at the tube of the feather duster and that stresses them out. If nothing eats the feather duster it can make its own tube from scratch and live.

I also have a question in regards to feather dusters. The head of my feather duster came off. The worm itself did not move from it's normal location so I'm not sure what going on. The feather dusters have been in my tank for about four months. Any help will be great.

It will grow back. The feathers just fell off because it was stressed

The worm can rebuild its tube even if it escapes, however its chances of survival are slim due to the fact that something drove it from its tube
