Anyone know what my feather duster is doing? Looks like the worm is poking out(on the left) on the other side do the rock

Yeah, he's not a happy camper. They will leave their tubes when they are not happy about something, but even more troubling it that he's head first in the rock. Usually they back into holes/crevices and hang their heads out, not their butts.
 
I'd watch him closely for a bit to see what he's up to. If he's still like that after awhile, I would very gently pull him out and check him.
 
That's so cool! I didn't know they could leave the tunnel like that :o I might have to go buy one now hahaha
 
It's not a good thing to see them out of their tubes. Often times they start to decline after that, even if you get them back in their tubes, or if they find a different spot. It means one of their needs isn't been met, they're being picked on, or something in the environment is bothering them. Sometimes it's something simple like they weren't in the right flow and then are happier in a new spot.... but it doesn't roll that way often.
