My tank has been set up for about 6 months , started adding corals the last month or so .... just added this favia a few days ago and saw what appears to be a feather duster ? Figure might as well post a pic and get confirmation that it is t anything negative , better safe than sorry

If it pops in and out quickly, grabbing at the water, it could be a barnacle too. I can't tell from the picture.

Yes it does
Confirm by comparison with pics on the net then. I have one in my trumpet coral I've never seen it's shell cause it is covered by the c oral tissue. But it's constantly in, out, in, out, in ,out. Grabbing at the water. It reminds me of a hand. Harmless filter feeder, mine has not multiplied, I wish it would it looks cool.

The one you have here looks more like a feather-duster, which also pops _in_ to its tube quickly, but extends more slowly. Both are, as Maggie noted, harmless filter-feeders; feather dusters are worms, barnacles are distant cousins of shrimp, which glue their heads to a rock and spend the rest of their lives kicking food into their mouths with feathery feet.
