Feather duster

So I was looking at my tank. I saw my feather duster push this out. From what I saw it looks like it shed it's feather. I just need to understand what I just saw and what does it normally do. Is this good thing ?

hi ,it does happen ,most of the time within a couple of days will grow a new one

such things usually happen when they get stressed or they are too hungry

Two reasons they do this:
Stress and new head from growth.
Ive seen them come out their tubes to find 2 weeks later in a new tube

So Aug 16th this happen with the head popping out. So how long do I wait for this. So far I didn't see any movement from the top. My Alk level were high at the time now they are at 12.5 dkh

2-3 weeks is reasonable
