Why do you want to get rid of them? Over time in many tanks these get going pretty good. I have them all over my rock and sump, but they cause no issues. Just little filter feeders

Yeaaa thats true them chromis'' r really hard to get out. They r fast as hell.believe me i want the fish gone except for the mandarin. The lawnmower we just got to clean up the algae on the return hes going back to the fish store. And on the question about y do i want to get rid of them....i just think they r ugly. And to me it just looks bad with them all over the frags and sticking up through the zoanthids.

Are you planning on growing pods or buying them weekly for the mandarin?

We have a refugium where they reproduce like crazy but even if without them we have him on pellets also.i never thought he would last. Everbody kept saying they dont last long but one day he just started munchin along on the pellets with the others.

Once your corals grow in you'll hardly notice them (here's my office reef that has loads of them). Every natural predator mentioned here will likely go after things you don't want them to down the line, and I'm not convinced they would eliminate them anyways.

My advice for you: Fill the tank with more coral Also cut back or eliminate any "coral foods" if you're using them.

Wow. That is beautiful!!. I wld fill it with more coral but theres barely any room left. Have a 65gal ready to go just planning on moving soon and dint want to have to deal with that at the moment.

How old is ur tank? Ive found these things to be self limiting and part of so called "new tank syndrome" they usually die off of their own accord after a few months.

Unless you corals are encrusted I would trade in the rock for some new live rock with no feather dusters and call it a day.

I would just lighten the bioload and try adding a skimmer if you dont already have one. These guys are eating bacteria and planktonic life so if you are adding any green water or coral food you are feeding them and if you are carbon dosing you are feeding them. I see that you are truly bothered by these things, but be thankful that all you have are some dusters. Could be worse and you could be being over taken by bryopsis or dynos or any other truly catastrophic bs.

My opinion is let it ride girl.

Well from the looks of it you're having an organic problem. It's probably because you're overstocked 3x-4x. Unless you get rid of most of your fish they are going to keep growing.

Can I ask what brand and types of pellets you are using that the mandarin eats? I wuld like to buy some at the LFS.

Six lines are cool fish the also supposed to eat bristle worms nut mine eats mysis seaweed sheets never seen him eat anything else guess all fosh are different i have some of those feathers also i find them neat

Its from high nutrients. I just went through the same thing. I had thousands in a 75gal. I took rock out and scrub it off. They just kept coming back. I started doing water changes every week and started carbon and gfo. I do not run protein skimmer. After a little over a month they are just about gone. I have just a few left. It was so bad they were in my sump too.
