Where's the mysis?
They look like colonial hydroids to me. I'm not 100%. I would wait for others to chime in.
That wasy thought but was hoping not. They are in two spots in my tank. The other is in a patch of zoas but doesn't seem to bother them. That's what threw me off since I thought they were big irritants

I should add, I haven't added any foreign live rock to my system in several years so I've had them a long time. any new corals, which are few ,get a peroxide dip and removed from their plugs or disks so they are not aggressive..... Yet?

I tried Aiptasia X on some I have and it didn't help. My next attempt is smother them in epoxy.

They can become a nuisance. Kalk paste is the way to go. You need to smother them real good.

I just read that mandarins like them? If so, target or psychedelic? I've been wanting to replace the one I lost last year when I downsized so that would work well

I've never heard of any mandarin eating hydroids.

Hydroids are baby jellyfish. If you have that many already, check your equipment, I bet you have jellyfish in it. I found out the hard way about them many years ago. I was cleaning equipment and something stung my hand really bad, flipped itover and it was covered in tiny jellyfish. I quickly took pics of them and told the wife if I die, these guys did it, lol.
Just got done checking everything. I checked very well and didn't find anything. I pulled my skimmer apart, all plumbing, sump, reactor......i needed to do a decent breakdown cleaning anyway, so that was all gain. I counted 25 hydroid polyps and ill pull the rocks out and manually get em off
