Spotted these when I switched to blue only for a few tonight.

Had to adjust the lights to get a picture.

They're really small, maybe 1/8 inch

Following this. My husband and I noticed some in our tank but ours are a little more translucent. We have a feather duster but I don't think that is what these are.

They definately can irritate corals. It just depends on their proximity. I would try to get rid of them

Should I pull the rock and torch them? This is one of my only pieces of cured live rock, I hate to kill the whole thing.

Colonial hydroids

I went to pull the rock to manually remove them. Noticed a ton on my other chunk of live rock. Pulled them out and threw them in a bucket with no water. How many days should it take to kill this junk?

The rest of my rocks were dry when introduced so they "should" be safe.

Could I pour boiling water over them in the garage then let it cool and bring them back in?

I just dunked them into boiling water for 20 minutes or so and into the freezer for about 30 minutes. That should kill anything.

Lost all my coraline but it will grow back.

Hopefully that will take care of them. I've heard of some palys that come back after baking in the sun for weeks! Hopefully those hydroids aren't as resilient ;Dead

They're still there but it appears the life is gone. They don't glow under the lights anymore either.

Now the rock just has to cure again. It was only about 3 pounds though so it shouldn't take long. Still about 50 pounds in the tank.
