Feather dustet worm

I have new feather duster and he is all time opened.... He shortly close in store where I bought it and after few sec opened and all yime is like that, open. When I touch him and aclimate him and finally put him in my tank he stays same open. Can he die like that or whaaaat...?

I have two. One always open and the other occasionally.

Mine open and close all day long, very normal
