just looking for any constructive feedback on the aquascape. after a tank crash 6 months ago I just got my first few fish and corals last week, and before I glue things or buy more I’m hoping for some feedback on the scape. no nearby reefers and my wife and kids say things like “this is just an expensive box of water, stop messing with it and add things!” So just looking for a little feedback before I dive in too far. Thanks up front for any guidance!

It looks good but if it was me I would move the two small rocks that are between the two islands and maybe work them into the smaller island. I wouldn’t make the small island any taller though.

Just my opinion....... it looks good now, but I would move the two solo rocks on the sand bed between the islands and maybe make the larger island a little taller. This will give you kind of an alleyway between islands. Just my thoughts.

And don’t worry..... the kids will come around once they see all the cool critters and colors in that “expensive box” [emoji6]

+1

Like it a lot otherwise!

Hi! My hubby is the same way. He has little to no interest in my tank. :( that being said, it makes it REALLY easy to purchase new items without him knowing! ;)

I actually really like this scape. You have some varying height, open sandbed, a few little islands. I say move on to adding stuff! Lol

It’s a stack of rocks in a fish tank.

Your wife is correct.

The only advice I have for scaping is to try and avoid shadowing! That is the biggest thing I always regret once I start getting corals.

I think you did a great job!

there's no perfect scape its just how your reef will turn out. I'm constantly having to adjust my rocks because of a new coral or just a way to help the fish out that I do have. Just as long as you get good flow throughout your tank and not too much shadows for your corals and areas for your fish to swim through just enjoy it and watch your reef mature

Yes, you’ve done a good job, me personal I would remove just the small rock on the right by the arch way for now, you can always add it later when you can see what corals go where, good luck.

IF YOU HAD TO TAKE A REEFING EXAM, WOULD YOU PASS?
